Father's Day

We had a fun-filled Father's Day! Nick got to choose whatever he wanted to do, so we started off with a trip to the zoo, ate lunch downtown, then we all went home for an afternoon nap, followed by a trip to Coldstone for ice cream! I didn't get the best pictures but it was a wonderful day! Emerson is so blessed to have a Dad who loves her so much. We love you, Daddy!

Grandpa's Tractors

We went to visit Grandma & Grandpa Ross for the weekend and Emerson was fascinated by Grandpa's tractors! She sat on most of them and tried her hand at steering them, but the best part was getting a ride on Grandpa's lap (see video)!

While we were there, we all attended the Relay for Life to honor my Dad, who is a cancer survivor. I had never been to this event before...it was really touching! Emerson had no idea what was going on but she loved the balloons!

No More Baby Swings!

Emerson LOVES to spend time at the playground by our house. She has gotten really brave and likes to go on the big slides and swings by herself. Our latest trip to the playground was a fun adventure:

Here she is--holding on tight...

getting a little too confident...

and then showing off her mouthful of dirt after taking a tumble!

Festival 2009

Last weekend, we celebrated our first weekend of summer vacation by taking a trip downtown for the Festival of the Arts. We took a trolley ride around the downtown area to some of the historical sites, then walked around to the food booths and tasted lots of delicious ethnic food. We shared an egg roll, bbq chicken, shwarma sandwich, walking taco, and an elephant ear...Emerson was pretty fond of all of them but the balloon (or "baboo" as she says) and trolley rides were definitely the highlights of her day!

Spoiled

Emerson got to spend lots of time with Grandma & Grandpa Ross this past week while we were gone to Aunt Nina's wedding in Mexico. It was so nice for her to spend time with them and such a treat to be able to sleep in each day instead of having Mom come in and wake her up to go to her sitter's house! She slept until 8 or 9 each day we were gone! Emmie had lots of fun with them...going for walks, reading books, playing at the playground, shopping, dining out, and entertaining family and friends. I'm not even sure she noticed that we were gone!

I can't believe that Kenzie & Maddie used to fit in this car!

She loves to stick her tongue out and try to get you to do it back to her!
