Emerson & Friends

We had our friends the Lixeys and the Rikkers over last Friday night. We haven't gotten together in sooooo long! It was great to see all of our friends and watch the kids interact. Emerson didn't seem to mind that she was the only girl! She thought they should all have a little jam session with their musical instruments, but the boys had more fun playing video games together!

Family-filled Weekend!

Emerson got to see lots of our family last weekend! We went to the Richardson's Cottage for Friday and Saturday. While we were there, we had a bridal shower for Aunt Nina and then celebrated Grandma Lisa's birthday! Grandpa Mike was home from China, giving us another reason to celebrate! She had a ball playing with her aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas and cousin Noah. She kind of likes being the center of attention (just watch the video). Then on Sunday, my parents came to our house after spending the winter in Florida. We got together with my sister's family, too, so Emmie got to see more cousins, aunts, and uncles (and their dog, who she also loves!) Grandma & Grandpa Ross spent the day with Emerson on Monday, too, so she didn't go to her sitter's house. We were very thankful that we got to see so much of our family, we just wish we could do that more often!

Emmie LOVES Books

So, we've mentioned before that Emerson loves books...here are some shots of her snuggled up with Mom & Dad reading (then applauding our efforts :-) The videos were an attempt to show off her verbal skills, but she's whispering a lot in the first one, so you may need to turn it up. We LOVE our goofy little girl!

15 Months Old

Emerson will be 15 months old tomorrow! She's growing like crazy and talking up a storm. Here are some current stats on our big girl!

• She loves to pretend to talk on the phone. When she sees one of us talking on the phone, she holds her hand up to her ear!
• She says "hi, bye, baby, daddy, mama, fish, sheep, hot, cool (cold), key (kitty), Bob, pop, and Emmie"! She also repeats things she hears us say.
• She makes cow, dog, sheep, lion, and elephant noises.
• Emerson weighs about 26 lbs. according to our scale. We'll post her other stats after her 15 month appt.
• Her favorite activities are playing peekaboo and patty cake, sticking out her tongue, and going to stores, restaurants, church...anywhere she can say "hi" to people. She's extremely social!

We finally got her name on the wall of her room. Now she points to it each day and says "Emmie!"
