5 Months Old

Here are some recent pictures of Emerson. Since I haven't made any posts in awhile, I'll catch you up to speed...Emmie is recovering from her 2nd ear infection :-( The pediatrician said that kids with "big round bowling ball heads" like hers tend to get more ear infections, so I guess there may be more in her future! She has recently started eating rice cereal and loves to try to grab the spoon to "help"! She just discovered that she can grab her toes and loves to play with them, especially on the changing table! She's gotten really good at pulling hair and yanking my glasses off. She also loves to give kisses, though they're very wet and slobbery, we love them! Emmie weighs close to 18 pounds now and is rolling over and making all kinds of noises. She can sit up fairly well but still tips if she's not supported. She loves to pull herself up to sitting position and loves to stand up. She's lots of fun and usually very happy!

Mother's Day

Here's a video from Mother's Day...Emerson was very talkative and smiley! We went to church, went out to lunch with Grandma MJ, and then Dad and Emmie gave me some time to relax :-)

Emerson's Dedication

We had Emerson dedicated at our church on Sunday. The dedication was at 2:00, so we had our friends and family over for a little celebration beforehand. It was a beautiful day and it was so wonderful to be surrounded by so many people who love Emmie. We are so thankful for all of you who traveled so far to help us celebrate Emerson's special day and we missed those of you who couldn't be there. She is still fighting the virus she had last week (we went back to the doctor today), so she looks a little rough in some of these pictures. She was a trooper though!

It was a crowded house!

Emmie enjoyed being passed around to her cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles!

Dad thought both schools needed to be represented so he redesigned her outfit (this was obviously before the girls helped me dress her for the service)

We tried to get a good picture of her and Noah together, but she wasn't very happy. Noah looks as cute as ever though!

Noah's blog has some great pictures from the weekend

Emmie almost put her feet in the cake :-)

Aunt Lyn was very excited to finally meet Emerson!

During the dedication service, Emerson was captivated by Pastor Jamie's voice. She really looked like she was listening and taking it all in the whole time!

Nick and I wrote a family covenant and read it at the dedication. We got a little choked up but we made through...we are just so blessed by this little girl!

First Trip to the Cottage

Saturday was Emerson's first trip to the Richardson's cottage in Spring Lake. All of the Mayras were staying there for the weekend but we just went for the evening. We had spent some time earlier in the day with my family, so it was a busy one! Emmie had lots of fun getting reaquainted with everyone, but she was SO worn out by the end of the night. It was so great to see everyone and we can't wait to get back out there sometime when we can get her in the lake!

Checking out the exersaucer (and drooling on it of course)

Kate got big smiles and giggles from Emmie (this was after a little nap, so she was much happier!)
