8 Weeks Old

The weather has been cold and snowy so we've been hanging out at home a lot lately! We've spent lots of time snuggling, smiling, and laughing at all of Emmie's new noises. She coos and "talks" a lot right now! Here are some recent pictures of 8 week old Emerson:

Emerson Meets Noah

This past weekend, Emerson finally got to meet her Uncle Jeff, Aunt Lesley, and cousin Noah! They came to visit from Chicago and we had a great weekend together.

7 Weeks Old!

Emerson is 7 weeks old now. Nick and I are enjoying hearing new noises, seeing more smiles, and watching her discover new things every day! Here are a few of the latest pictures:

Emmie loves her car seat now...compare this picture to the one from the day she came home from the hospital!

Emerson has been trying so hard to suck her thumb (without success). Most of the time, she looks like she's licking an imaginary ice cream cone!

Emmie's Likes and Dislikes

We thought we'd catch you all up one some of Emerson's current likes and dislikes:

She loves to take a bath in her bathtub--even if you can't tell by her face!









Here she is getting dried off (and being uncharacteristically calm). She usually dislikes being naked or getting her clothes or her diaper changed. However, she does enjoy going to the bathroom as soon as her diaper is off!










She also enjoys making funny faces like this one!













Emerson likes to hear some stories each night. Dad decided that his aquarium supply catalog would make a good bedtime story!















Emmie usually enjoys playing in her gym. She tries to bat at some of the objects, makes noises, and loves to listen to the music. Apparently, this workout was just too strenuous!











She loves sleeping in her crib, but only at night...during the day, she prefers to nap in her swing, bouncy seat, car seat, or snuggled up with Mom or Dad. We're still working on getting her to nap in her crib!








Emerson loves it when we tickle her tummy--she gets so excited! She kicks her legs and waves her arms.

1 month old!

Emerson is already 1 month old! The time is flying by and she's changing everyday. As of 12/28/07, she was 8 lbs. 11 oz.! She's a growing girl with a great appetite. Emmie is also starting to sleep longer at night...last night she went 5 hours between feedings! We were very grateful for that! Here are some of the latest pics:

Grandma MJ came to spend some time with us between Christmas and New Year's. She and Emmie spent lots of time cuddling together.

Here is Emerson's first New Year's Eve...she tried to stay up until midnight but didn't quite make it.

When Emerson falls asleep, she often throws up her hands and sleeps with her arms stretched out like this...it's hilarious!

Here she is playing with her gym. She's interacting with things more and more. Today she even held onto a rattle (briefly) and shook it!

Emmie loves it when we tickle her belly. She almost smiles!
