This past weekend, we took our first trip to the UP with Emerson. She did a wonderful job traveling. She slept most of the way there Friday night and then stayed up to play with everyone for a little while once we got there. On Saturday, she had her first visit to the Suomi for breakfast, then a nice long nap so she was energized for her Great Grandma's 80th birthday party! She had another little snooze and then finished off the day with a family trip to the Ambassador for dinner. We left first thing Sunday morning, so it was a busy weekend. It was great to spend time with the family there. We just wish we could've stayed longer!
Burning some energy before the long car ride
Emmie's first time meeting Great Grandma
She loved meeting her cousin Christy (and eating her necklace)
Aunt Kelley had yummy jewelry too, but the bottle was more satisfying
Once the music started, Emmie got down with Aunt Nancy
She loved bouncing to the music with Jared and Liz
Relaxing with Grandma MJ after the party
Aunt Lyndsey and Uncle Alex got lots of playtime with Emerson this weekend (sorry Al, no picture)

First Road Trip
We took our first road trip this past weekend to see my parents. Emmie slept for a little while in the car, so she was wide awake and ready to play with Grandma and Grandpa Ross when we got there! On Saturday, my sister Lori came over with Courtney and James (our niece and nephew) to meet Emerson for the first time. She loved meeting them! There was also an antique tractor parade that stopped by, so Emerson got to see over 50 tractors...she wasn't all that excited, but she loved being outside on such a beautiful day. Grandpa said he'll give her a tractor ride next time she visits. The weekend went by very quickly but it was great to see everyone! Emerson seems to be a good traveler!
We went to the Heussner's for a cookout. Emerson loved playing with Emma's toys!
Good night kisses for Grandpa...
and Grandma
Playing with Grandma before bed
Giving Courtney kisses
She loved to grab James' face and hair
Here are a few of the antique tractors we saw...Grandpa loved the Case tractor towing the John Deere!

6 Month Stats
Emmie had her 6 month check up today. Here are the stats:
Weight: 19.1 lbs. (still 95%)
Height: 26.25 in. (still 75%)
Head: 17.5 (still 95%)
So, she's growing at the same rate she was at her 4 month appt. Her last ear infection seems to have mostly cleared up but she still has some fluid in one ear, so our pediatrician prescribed a stronger antibiotic to see if that would clear it up. She was also concerned that Emerson is still congested (as we've been saying since she was born) and it's now turned into a cough. She says the congestion is all in her throat and nasal areas, and thinks it may be reflux (if it's not, then she'll look at the possiblity of allergies). So we started Zantac today to see if that would help clear her up. Hopefully this will help get to the bottom of what's going on. Her umbillical hernia is great and the dr. has no concerns with that! She's sitting up all the time, grabbing everything, babbling away, and trying to sing (I think)! She's such a fun little girl!
Her eyes are turning hazel like Daddy's!

Sitting Up!
Now that Emerson is almost 6 months old, she's all about sitting up as much as possible. She is able to sit up on her own for a little while, but she still needs a little support. She also loves to try to stand up and loves to dance with Mommy and Daddy. She's still drooling like crazy (as you can tell from the first picture) but still no teeth.
