At Emerson's 6 month well-baby check-up, her pediatrician was still a little concerned about her flat head, so she suggested that we have an evaluation by a PT, OT, and an Orthotics specialist. The specialists determined that her head flatness wasn't severe enough to require a helmet, but they did diagnose her with Torticollis, which is a tightness in the neck muscles. This has caused her to turn and tilt her head one way, reach and roll more with one side of her body, etc. So to correct this, she started Physical Therapy at the beginning of July. She goes once a week and she's already made good progress! Her therapist does some stretching and massage with her to loosen her neck muscles, and shows me different stretches and activities we can do at home to help her. Here are some photos from today's visit!
