We went to Florida to visit my parents for Spring Break. Emerson did wonderfully on her first airplane ride! She was looking out the window, telling us she could see alligators, fish, and grandma and grandpa :-) She was quite excited to see the "Welcome Emmie" banner on their front door.
We spent lots of time in the pool, which she loved! My sister, Pam, and her family were staying in the area as well, so Emerson had fun splashing in the pool with her cousins, too.
We took a day trip to Cayo Costa, a beautiful island/state park. We saw a few dolphins on the way there, but once we were at the beach, Emmie began her treasure search in the sand. She found all kinds of shells to bring home. Nick headed to the ocean to look for treasures and found several crabs, sea urchins, jellyfish, a snail the size of a football, and sand dollars (live and dead)! After spending a lot of time at the ocean, we headed to a shallow lagoon there where we could walk around and see the fish swimming around our feet (sounds a little creepy but they were tiny, so it was pretty cool!)
The rest of our time was spent relaxing, dining out, and spending lots of family time together. Emerson enjoyed "helping" Grandma Ross with cookie-baking, reading, and gardening. We had a wonderful time!
